Ilen River Cruise

Your holiday cruise in West Cork with Baltimore Yacht Charters will be aboard the high-spec yacht Inishbeg.

The perfect family day out. Leave Baltimore and sail up the Ilen River where you will see some of West Cork’s best scenery. Sail past Spanish Island, Sandy Island, Reengaroga Island and Inishbeg Island. Inishbeg is the island after which the boat was named.

After passing Inishbeg Island, Creagh Gardens will be to our right. This is a magnificent garden originally planted by Harold Barry. We continue on for another mile of tree-lined riverbank and reach Oldcourt where we pass the pub “The Oldcourt Inn”. We also sail past two boatyards and if tidal conditions are right we continue on to Newcourt. Here we turn back and you can enjoy complimentary tea or coffee on board while observing the wildlife ranging from seals to herons.

We normally motor sail back to Sherkin Island for a 30 minute stop off. This is our easiest cruise and we guarantee smooth waters, unspoiled scenery and an abundance of wildlife.
